About Me

Professional Background

I began my journey in instructional design with a focus on the intersection of psychology and technology. Over the years, my approach has evolved into a methodical, empathy-driven practice. I believe that learning is most effective when it is contextualized within real-world scenarios, allowing for deeper cognitive engagement and meaningful retention. My career path has been defined by a commitment to methodical design and a deep respect for the human experience.

My Design Process

I utilize structured frameworks to ensure every digital learning experience is methodical, empathetic, and aligned with clear educational objectives.

Action Mapping

I structure projects around ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), always starting with action mapping. Whether I am designing for technical compliance or soft skills, I focus on the specific, high-stakes behaviors learners must execute on the job rather than testing passive recall of theory. I map out critical decisions—from prioritizing a fire extinguisher over water during a localized emergency, to choosing an assertive response over passive retreat during a peer conflict. The action map establishes clear priority rules and acts as a strict filter for what stays in, what gets cut, and what learners actually practice.

Consequence-Driven Scenario Design

Real workplace challenges, whether physical emergencies or emotional conflicts, are high-stress and fast-moving. I craft first-person, interactive scenarios that place learners directly into the friction. Whether navigating a blocked hallway exit or addressing a peer's project-delaying data error, decisions carry immediate, realistic consequences. By allowing learners to safely experience the negative outcomes of wrong choices, such as escalating a conflict or mishandling a hazard, I drive genuine, real-time behavioral evaluation rather than basic multiple-choice testing.

Design & Development

I build using the right tool for the instructional goal, leveraging Articulate Rise for clean, scannable microlearning and Articulate Storyline for complex branching logic. Form always follows function. I incorporate guided audio coaching, visual character prompts, and complex logic such as variable-based scoring. By utilizing conditional triggers and seamless layer navigation, my courses dynamically route learners to score-tailored video outcomes upon completion or guide them through sequential frameworks such as Listen, Clarify, Confirm, Respond that move them seamlessly from theory to practice.

Testing, Iteration & Feedback Loops

Modules are refined through rigorous testing of both logic and learner experience. During development, triggers are continuously audited—ensuring variables accrue correctly across layers, UI text remains clear and concise, and media layers load seamlessly without structural delay. Post-launch, I utilize feedback loops, including integrated Google Forms evaluations across module checkpoints, to capture data on course clarity, workplace relevance, and organizational alignment. This dual focus on technical QA and learner feedback ensures continuous refinement so the training delivers measurable results.
